Millie Ojemere was just another school student, working her way through GCSEs, when by chance she came across our website, liked what she saw and registered her interest in a Long Term Exchange. So began an adventure which enabled her to spend an academic year in Brazil in 2011/2012. She recounts her experiences to a reporter from her local newspaper here.
Although exchanges with countries outside of the European Union are strictly not possible, due to UK Borders Agency restrictions on the issue of entry visas for a school year to non Europeans, our colleagues in Brazil had received an application for an exchange from a student who was born in Spain and so, although living in Brazil, held Spanish, and therefore EU nationality. They were therefore able to offer Millie an exchange place.
